Gastric Bypass / Band Revision Surgery

In certain occasions we offer a revision operation for patients who had LAP-BAND or gastric bypass surgery and were not able to lose significant weight. Although these operations are usually performed laparoscopically, they are longer and more complicated than the original surgery. When you call our office please mention the type of gastric surgery you had. We do not revise patients with failed gastric stapling (VBG) or Molina Band. Dr. Spivak is one of the more experienced surgeons in the country for the revision of gastric band / bypass; see his recent publication and presentation at the "Research" section.

Dr. Spivak is here to help for your revision surgery. Gastric band revision might be necessary if you are not experiencing the results that you expected from your procedure or if you are having complications. If you are in Texas and in need of gastric band revision, do not hesitate to contact Dr. Spivak. He has extensive experience and expertise in the field of minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures for weight loss and he was the very first LAP-BAND surgeon in the state of Texas.

Dr. Spivak performs his procedures, including revision surgeries, using the laparoscopic method. As a world-renowned bariatric surgeon, he worked with the FDA to test the safety and efficacy of the LAP-BAND procedure before it was approved in the U.S. and has trained many other surgeons in advanced weight loss procedures. You can be confident in Dr. Spivak's advanced understanding of this procedure as well as revision surgery.
